Pinky Webb gets a 'Teddy Doggie' from Ted

MANILA, Philippines – Broadcast journalist Pinky Webb agreed to be grilled on the ABS-CBN's “Failon Ngayon” aired Saturday where she talked briefly about her work, family, love and thoughts on marriage.

She got a surprise gift from host Ted Failon--a 'Teddy doggie' stuffed toy.

Webb is part of ABS-CBN’s morning show, Umagang Kay Ganda (UKG), radio dzMM, ABS-CBN News Channel (ANC) and public affairs program, XXX.

With her busy schedule, Failon asked Webb how she manages her time and love life.

"Basta maaga akong matulog, ok sa akin. Kahit pagod na pagod ako buong araw, basta 9 o'clock tulog na ako,” Webb said.

Single

As for her love life, she said, "Wala. Zero. Wala."

Webb recently broke up with boyfriend, former television host and now Lakas-Kampi vice presidential bet Edu Manzano.

Failon pressed on and asked her if she considered “going seriously into a relationship, as in marriage, and work”.

"Gusto ko din magkapamilya pero hindi ko pipilitin yun kung hindi pa akin. Yun na lang. After 39 years, if I'm gonna get married, kung magpapakasal ako, gusto ko yung lalaking gusto ng Diyos para sa akin," she answered.

Failon’s follow-up question was if she was has been offered marriage in the past.

"Meron ba? Ano sa palagay mo? Meron naman," she said but did not elaborate.

The hardworking journalist right away replied to Failon’s question if she was afraid of remaining single at her age.

“Natatakot ka bang tumandang dalaga?” Failon asked.

Webb said: “Hindi. I never thought of that. Hindi ko naisip yun. Saka Ted, hindi ako yung tao na when I was in my 20s inisip ko magpapakasal ako, ito yung gown ko. At this age, hindi ako ganun e. I live each day as it comes. Everyday, ginagawa ko lahat kung anong magagawa kong mabuti ngayong araw, happy na ako doon.”

Off camera, Webb has several descriptions of herself.

"Kung anong nakikita mo sa radyo yun na yun. Medyo matapang, mabait minsan, may pagka-kengkoy, minsan parang tomboy," she said.

She explained that her boyishness comes from growing up with 4 brothers. Webb is the daughter of former Senator Freddie Webb.

"Kasi yung mga kapatid ko, napagitna ako sa apat na lalaki. So sila yung palagi kong kasama. Nagsu-swimming kami, nakikipag racing pa ako sa kanila kasi very competitive ako noong bata ako," she said.

Remains positive

The hardest obstacle that the family has had to face together involved her brother Hubert, who is serving time for the so-called Vizconde massacre.

"Hanggang ngayon, in all honesty, hindi ko pa naiintindihan kung bakit nangyari, and maybe I'll never understand. But, sabi nga nila, pag may nangyaring ganyan, you don't question God, you just accept. Mayroon naman mga mabuting nangyari after that in terms sa aming pamilya, mas naging close kami, pero yung sakit na dala sa amin noon, hindi ko pa nakakalimutan,” she said.

She added, “I have to be positive about it. Dapat may magandang mangyari dito, and that's what I'm hopeful for.”

As for lessons she learned from past experiences, she said the most important is, “I've learned not to be judgmental. Ayokong mag judge ng tao base sa naririnig ko o nababasa ko lamang.”

‘Teddy doggie’

Towards the end of the program, Webb gladly accepted a stuffed toy--a dog-- from Failon.

Webb already has 2 pet dogs. She agreed to name the stuffed toy "Teddy doggie," as suggested by Failon.

“Ito bigyan mo siya ng pangalan--si Teddy doggie,” Failon said.

Hi friends, G here, I'm finally back on Pinky's web after almost a year! I am so glad to be back on the Pinky Webb track! (Di halatang na-eexcite, right?)

Anyway, even when I was away I still take time to watch her shows on TV, or stream online for the TFW radio program. I'm such an avid fan that's why we put up this whole blog thingy, remember? I just want to thank everyone who kept this blog alive even when I was not around, thanks to you Kriann, JP and the others... you know who you are! Ok, so much of my ramblings about how I miss this.

I just want to tell everyone the biggest news yet. Pinky Webb will be guesting on Failon Ngayon on Saturday! So everyone please do watch, I'll try to have it taped so we can have a copy and post it here (but please tape it too, just in case I won't be able to).

I stopped listening to DZMM for over 4 months because of my schedule, but recently my schedule's changed and I have the luxury of listening to may favorite radio programs again. I've been an avid listener of F&S, so when I heard a different yet familiar voice on air I was surprised, in a good way. (Do I really need to explain why I'm surprised? Isn't it clear that I'm one of the fanatics here?) I love the Failon and Webb tandem, it's so much fun, I'm not saying that Korina is less fun than Pinky, but to simply put it, it's just different in a good way. It's a refreshing change, not just their tandem, but the way Pinky Webb is when she's 'on board'. Ted Failon brings out the goofy side of her. And who would have known that she has a shot at acting, and I've noticed lately that she's practicing her 'older woman' voice too! Pinky have gone a long way! And we love her for that.

So everyone, never miss any of her shows, be it on radio or TV, mainstream or the cable news channel! ☺

Also a big shoutout to Mr. Ted Failon, thank you very much and keep up the great work!

Pinky Webb Interviews Cher Calvin on UKG

I was able to watch Cher Calvin being interviewed on TV Patrol World by Mario Dumaual. Also, I heard from the grapevine that she guested on UKG but because of my new work schedule I missed it. Good thing JP gave me a heads up, and told me that there's a video clip on youtube. I am so giddy (like grade school giddy on the first day of classes), it's the first time that I saw the two persons I always look up to share the set and camera.




After watching the video clip, I wished I was watching live. I should have been a step closer in completing my list of the persons I want to meet in my life. (If we're friends on friendster you'll know what I'm talking about. :))

Happy Heart's Day

Happy Valentine's day everyone! It's been forever since the last time I visited this blog. Anyway, yesterday was the first time that I had the time to listen to Radyo Patrol since 2009 started, and I think luck wasn't on my side, as we all know that Miss Pinky Webb was absent yesterday. Sigh. Anyway, I still continued listening to the news as I am quite deprived of the current events these past weeks. Don't get me wrong, I don't tune in to Radyo Patrol just because Pinky is there, I listen for the news, and Pinky Webb is just a bonus.

After the program, just as Alex was signing off he said "Sa ngalan po ni Pinky Webb, na siguradong may date bukas, ito po si Alex Santos". I know I'm shallow, but just with that line I felt giddy and excited for them!

A segue, I just want to say advance happy birthday to dear G (it's on the 20th, but I want to be the first to greet her)!

NAG-FOURSOME ANG MAG-AMANG Edu at Luis Manzano sa katatapos lang na 22nd Star Awards for Television ng Philippine Movie Press Club sa SMX ng Mall of Asia last Sunday. Kasamang dumating ni Edu sa venue ang co-host niya sa Umagang Kay Ganda na si Pinky Webb. Samantalang si Luis naman ang escort ni Angel Locsin na nag-uwi ng kauna-unahan niyang acting award.

“Aktres na ako,” sabi ni Angel pagtanggap niya ng award.

Big winner si Edu that night as Best Game Show host sa Pilipinas, Game Ka Na Ba? Winner din sina Julius Babao para sa Best Male Newscaster, Kim Atienza for Matanglawin, at Robi Domingo as Best New Male TV Personality.

Nagkaroon ng komosyon sa audience nu’ng umakyat ng stage si Edu dahil ang nababalitang girlfriend niya ngayon na si Pinky Webb ang nag-announce ng winner for Best Game Show na napanalunan ng Pilipinas, Game Ka Na Ba? kasama si Julius as presenters.

Nu’ng muling babasahin naman ang winner for Best Game Show Host ni Julius Babao, panay ang silip ni Pinky kung sino ang nakasulat na pangalan sa envelope. After ma-announce na winner si Edu at tanggapin ang trophy, pinasalamatan niya si Pinky na halatang nag-blush sabay talikod sa audience. Pagbaba ni Pinky sa podium ng stage, namumula pa rin siya at pinagpapawisan.

“Hangggang ngayon pinagpapawisan pa rin ako,” ngiti ni Pinky sa mga members ng PMPC. “Never ako’ng pinagpawisan nang ganito katindi sa buhay ko.”

Paglabas ni Edu at Pinky sa hall ng SMX, pinutakte na sila ng tv crews. Iwas naman ng iwas si Pinky na makunan sila na magkasama ni Edu. So, si Edu na lang ang nag-entertain sa tv crews.

Hindi maitago ni Edu ang labis na kaligayahan that night lalo pa’t nandu’n din ang anak nyang si Luis with his very special love na si Angel. Wish nga ni Edu, sana raw nandu’n din ang iba pa niyang mga anak to share his happiness.

Nagbigay naman ng reaksiyon si Edu sa sinabi ng ex-wife niya at Governor ngayon ng Batangas na si Vilma Santos na kakausapin siya para pumayag na um-appear sa first movie nila ng kanilang anak na si Luis sa Star Cinema na may tentative title na A Mother’s Story kahit one day lang.

“Actually, nagkausap na kami at maganda ‘yun kung mas pagagandahin pa lalo ‘yung eksenang kukunan sa amin. Yes I agree with her (na lumabas sa movie nina Governor Vi at Luis). Pero nasa mga writer na ng Star Cinema ‘yun kung paano nila pagagandahin ‘yung eksenang gagawin namin sa movie,” pahayag ni Edu.

Malinaw ding sinabi ni Edu na walang isyu kay Pinky kung magsama ulit sila sa pelikula ng kanyang ex-wife at ina ni Luis. *******

Nevertheless, she's still the biggest winner in our hearts, most especially in Edu's heart.. You can see how happy & proud he (Edu) is having her (Pinky) beside him that night, he was a total winner even before he was announced a winner! They really look good together.

Pinky Fashion - PMPC Star Awards for TV 2008

I've been looking for the red carpet photos of the recently concluded PMPC Star Awards for TV 2008. Unluckily, for us regular people who can't be there for the event, there were no trace of the awards night, unlike in Hollywood when there's an event it's all over the web. Yeah, there's a TV airing for the awards night, but still photos are perfect especially when taken on the red carpet.

So, to give you an idea of what Pinky Webb wore for the awards night, I've asked the help of Unc Google to track her Nicole Miller gown. I've known Nicole Miller (not personally, though I love to meet her too! She went to RISD, and I went there for a while too.) since I was in high school, she was like my mom's patron saint. And we both love to visit her online shop, so it wasn't hard for me to figure that out.

Pinky wore the Ombre Sunset Stretch Charmeuse gown.




Imagine Pinky Webb wearing this! She totally rocks with the gown on, with her towering height and her toned shoulders, she looks no less than a goddess.

Just a trivia, Nicole Miller is known for her expensive gowns, and this gown.... it really is! Also, she has a bridal collection and popular bridesmaid line... Hmnnn... was just mere coincidence? I'll let you be the judge.

UKG 2008-12-01

The UKG gang was in Enchanted Kingdom today sans Tunying (Anthony Taberna) who's at the studio, Tita Winnie who's at Plantation Bay in Cebu and Alex who's missing in action even on the afternoon radio program he shares with Pinky Webb.

Pinky and Edu had a segment in UKG today which features Old Hollywood Hairs. She said that the trend boomed during the 40's in hollywood and 70's and 80's here in the country. Pinky asked Edu if he remembered the hairdo and Edu said that he'd met and known so many sporting the do before. And Pinky said "talaga? marami?" (Really? There's a lot?), and she was kind of teasing Edu, and Edu just smiled his signature goofy smile. Pinky said that that trend is making a comeback, and that most of today's local celebs are sporting the do, like Judy Ann Santos and Anne Curtis.

I saw almost all the hosts riding the "rides" but I haven't seen Pinky ride any, or did I just miss that part? Maybe I missed it, when I was busy checking my mails.

Here's the video of Echo singing for Pinky on her birthday last June 11, 2008. Noticed that Rica and Donita were dressed-up like Pinky. :) I almost forgot how Pinky looked like without her bangs. But after seeing this, I think she looks good whethere with bangs or not. :)

Pinky at XXV Concert

Pinky Webb watched Gary V's, XXV concert at the Araneta last Saturday. She was asked to comment about the concert after and she said that she enjoyed the show and it was great. She was seen with fellow co-host Rica Peralejo. And Donita Rose was also there, as she is being managed by Manila Genesis, Angeli Pangilinan's company.

Hi everyone! I know it's been a while since the last update by JP, we here are the PWN headquarters are just busy with our jobs and everything about life that is cracked up to be. Anyway, with all the rumors/write ups circulating about Pinky Webb and /or chairman Edu Manzano we don't know what's true or what's not. So to save us from giving you the wrong information we decided not to post anything about it unless it is known to be true and confirmed by them.

About the wedding thing, we don't know whether it's true or not because neither of them confirmed nor denied it, yet. For those of you who don't think that they are meant for each other you can raise your eyebrows all you want up to your scalps but it won't change anything. Because at the end of the day it will be just the two of them who will get married and live together. And for us Pinky Webb supporters, if it's true... we couldn't be more happier for her. Hi to everyone reading this blog including the inspiration of this blog PinkyWebb. I know you've already read it from the cbox portion of this site that Pinky Webb thanked G, (that's me!) administrator of this blog. She said that she'd search the entire web universe for this blog. Knowing that there are people who take time to read this blog is more than enough for me, and now you add up Pinky Webb... that is really something. It's like winning the Oscar's or Emmy's! I know I'm exaggerating again but that's what I really felt (still feeling) when I heard it from her this afternoon to cap her radion program on DZMM.

I would like to share this to all of you who keeps on supporting this little blog. To K, who helped me with all the techie stuff. She made the layouts, and all the headers that we had. And to JP who's been updating everyone when I have no time to update. And again to all of you. Thanks a lot.

Edu Manzano was in his element when he faced another grueling taping schedule of Pilipinas, Game Ka Na Ba? last week after his One Kapamilya,Go! European tour ng ABS CBN Global. Enjoy si Mr. Manzano sa taping 4 episodes-a-day, twice-a-week (Tuesdays and Thursdays) at wala itong reklamo kahit pa sabihing nagri-report pa rin ito sa opisina ng Optical Media Board most of the time.

Laging naka-smile si Edu everytime na tinatanong ang tungkol sa kaniyang relasyon with News and Public Affairs anchorwoman, Pinky Webb, ang sinasabing kaniyang "apple of the eye." No'ng makorner namin si Edu after his show sa Italy a couple of weeks ago, naitanong namin sa mabait na TV host kung gaano katotoo ang chinika ng kaniyang kaibigan sa amin, na he's planning a February wedding next year with Pinky. "Hintayin niyo na lang ang further announcement," muli'y biting pahayag ni tserman sa amin.

But Chairman Edu doesn't deny nor directly admit na ikakasal na sila ni Pinky next year. Kaya lang, nagpahaging ito na he's looking forward to a honeymoon in Europe next year. "I love the place. Napakaganda!" excited pang kuwento ni Edu sa isang exclusive interview with ABS-CBN.com before PGKNB started taping. "Dito kami magha-honeymoon," says Edu na mukhang haping-hapi sa sinabi.

On the other hand, we also asked Edu kung totoo ang balitang against si Jason Webb, kapatid ni Pinky sa pagpapakasal nito with Edu. Nauna na kasing nainterbyu si Jason at nasabi nitong wala itong alam sa wedding plans ng kapatid. "Hindi naman sila (Pinky and Jason) in constant communication. Totoong matagal na silang hindi nagkikita, kahit pa sabihing magkapatid sila," pagtatapos ni Edu.

Now it can be told, tuloy ang kasalang Edu Manzano at Pinky Webb sa darating na Febuary 2009.

Ito mismo ang napag-alaman namin sa isang malapit kay OMB Chairman Edu.

Ayon pa sa aming reliable source, tuloy na tuloy na ito although pinag-uusapan pa rin daw kung saan ito gaganapin. As in, wala pa raw kasi uma-nong napipiling venue ang soon- to-be husband and wife.

Dagdag pa ng aming source, siyempre, gusto raw nina Chairman Edu at Pinky na ma-ging sobrang espesyal ang araw na ito, hindi lamang para sa kanila ni Pinky kundi para na rin sa mga taong nagmamahal sa kanila.

Sa totoo lang, masaya kami para kay Edu dahil sa wakas ay naka-tagpo na siya ng babaing mamahalin niya at mamahalin din siya pati ang mga anak niya, nang habambuhay.

Ayaw namang mag-komento ng TV host tungkol sa mga isyu regarding Pinky’s brother Jason Webb na diuma-no’y against daw ito sa relasyon nila ng kasinta-han?

Ang punto ni Chairman Edu, baka iba na naman ang maging interpretasyon sa kanyang masabi. Kaya better still, quiet na lang siya.

Hindi naman maitago ni Chairman Edu ang lubos na paghanga niya sa golden voice ng singer na si Jed Madela.

Mala-opera raw ang dating nito kaya pati ang mga Italyano ay bumilib sa Pinoy singer natin.

Si Jed kaya ang isa sa mga maghahandog ng awitin sa darating na kasalang Edu Manzano at Pinky Webb?

Breakfast Talk

On UKG today:

While introducing Donita's segment, Rica asked Pinky what's her favorite breakfast. She told Rica that her breakfast consists of tapa, vinegar with garlic and chili and 2 servings of rice. I wonder how she can eat that much in the morning?

After Donita's segment which featured Rufo's tapa, Pinky said that she started eating at that place when she was still 18 years old, and she said that their tapa is good but added that her mom's tapa is still the best for her!
