Last Friday on Bandila, Pinky Webb featured the "Bahay-Kubo Mansion" of national artist Francisco Mañosa. It's "Bahay-Kubo Mansion" is situated in the posh village of Ayala in Alabang, Muntinlupa.
Pinky Webb visited the mansion and was able to let viewers "in" to the house of the renowned artist/architect. The mansion is composed of three posts and it has it's "silong" that is muslim inspired, a somewhat basement for Pinoys, a master's bedroom with it's own pond and a kitchen that is so much like the old ones that Filipinos used to have back then.
The mansion is so well ventilated that the residents don't need to turn on the A/C because the house itself is so breezy. The doors of the mansion is made of coconut shells that are carefully, artistically and delicately put together. The kitchen, just like the native kitchens of the Filipinos overlooks the gates of the mansion that when you're in it you'll never fail to see if someone's coming into the house.
Kudos to Francisco Mañosa for his Filipino inspired architectural designs.
